Jean S. Frey, Campaign Director

 The new Campaign Director for The Florida Center for Performing Arts and
Education may not have grown up in Tallahassee, but she always loved it. As
a little girl growing up in nearby Greensboro, Jean Frey eagerly anticipated
family outings to Florida's capital city. "It was so exciting to visit
downtown Tallahassee as a child," she exclaims. In her new position, Frey
hopes to help Tallahassee recapture that buoyant atmosphere and thriving
downtown she knew in the 1960s. Frey fervently believes that the performing
arts center will not only promote the arts and entertainment, but also
education and economic growth.

Community Membership Kick-Off
Hosted by the Network of Young Professionals, the Community Membership Kick-off held September 16 was an overwhelming success. Over 200 guests enjoyed entertainment by Newgrass Generation (representing the Tallahassee Symphony Youth Orchestras),
Professor Christina Villaverde, soprano, and members of the Flying High FSU circus. The Florida Center welcomed 150 new members that evening and received $15,000 in contributions. Food, beverages and rentals were generously donated by: Tri-Eagle Sales, Shane’s Rib Shack,
71 Proof – LaTanya White, In Tents Events, Silver Lining Linens – Terrie Gross, and GT Entertainment – Greg Tish. MC for the evening was T. C. McGuire who also produced

The Florida Center’s new office has been beautifully furnished through the generosity of Integrated Facility Systems. Jacqueline Webster coordinated this amazing and much appreciated donation.

SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT!
The recent membership event hosted by The Wakulla Chamber of Commerce, Purple Martin Nurseries, and Capital City Bank of Wakulla County was an evening to remember! The Florida Center gained 40 new members and added over $3,000 to the coffers!
The beautiful setting, live music, fabulous food and drink definitely provided the opportunity for the 200 attendees to learn more about The Florida Center and become part of something remarkable in Florida Capital Region! It was indeed evident that The Florida Center has the full support of Wakulla and Franklin Counties.
